How to place an order for new uniform

From the ‘Uniform Shop’ page, click either the ‘Boys Uniform’ or  ‘Girls Uniform’ and choose the items required.  Once the item and size is selected, ‘Add to the basket’.  Once you have completed your selection, proceed to the ‘View your basket’ or ‘View your shopping cart’.  Then ‘Proceed to checkout’, fill in your details and pay.
NOTE: Please ensure you enter the students name and tutor group (feeder school if New intake) in the Order Notes section at the bottom.

We use PayPal for our secure payments. 

If you have a PayPal account, you will be familiar with using it.  If not, no need to worry;  you can pay with a credit or debit card using the PayPal platform.

Collection of orders by students

Once your order has been fulfilled, ordinarily in a few days, you will be notified by email when your order is ready for collection.  All orders and exchanges to be collected from the PTA office at first break.  The PTA office is now the far left of the school.  There are times of the year when we have special collecting days for new intake students.  These will be advertised on our website home page.  The site is updated regularly.  Please note: We do not have a facility to deliver or ship orders via couriers and we can not send uniform through school or tutors.

Please note: After 2-3 ‘school’ weeks an email and/or text message will be sent to remind you/the student that their order is still awaiting collection.  If you DO NOT respond to this email/text and the order is still NOT collected after a week (4 weeks in total), we will assume that you NO LONGER require the uniform.  You will be notified and refunded the total value of the order and the uniform will be returned back to stock.

Where are we located?

We are situated down the far left side of the school.  Past the DT Block on the left just before the rubbish/recycling area.  If you reach the Astroturf, you have gone too far.  We are directly behind the school kitchen.

Uniform Regulations

Clear uniform guidelines are detailed on the Robert Mays website, www.rmays.org.  The PTA do not currently supply school trousers, skirts or footwear.

Second Hand Uniform

Second hand uniform is not available online.  We have monthly sales of good quality, second hand uniform.
Details of which will be advertised regularly in the parents’ bulletin and also listed on our PTA Dates page.

Donations of second hand uniform can be dropped off at school reception in a bag.  Donations are greatly appreciated to sell on and to help recycle and reduce waste.

We can only accept cash or cheques only for second hand uniform – please make cheques payable to “Robert May’s  Parent Teacher Association” (with student’s name & form noted on the reverse of cheques).  Thank you.

Returns, Refunds or Exchanges

Please help the PTA and Uniform Team keep its volunteering time to a minimum.  All exchanges and refunds put an extra workload on our team.  So please ensure children try on uniform first before you purchase uniform from our online shop.  We have all sizes in all our uniform range available at any first break for the pupils to come and try on.  And please AVOID buying 2 sizes of uniform knowing that one will be exchanged or returned.  This is extra work for all our volunteers!  Please note from 1st September 2018 we will not process any Exchanges or Refunds without an accompanying Exchange Refund Form.

If for any reason, WITHIN 4 MONTHS OF PURCHASE you need to exchange or return an item, please ask students to bring the item back to the PTA office in its original packaging.  Please fill out our Exchange Refund Form and include this form when handing any uniform over.  We will check all uniform returned to us and if there are no problems we will exchange or refund the item(s) as requested and notify you via email when ready for collection.  If you have any queries please email uniform@rmspta.co.uk.  We will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible.  Please be aware that the uniform is handled by parent volunteers and therefore a reply might not be instant.​

Shop Closures

The PTA have made the decision to close the shop once a year to allow a full stock take to take place and our finance team also need to sort the books.

As you can appreciate, our Uniform Team/PTA are all volunteers and they deserve a holiday too!

  1. July-Aug – The online uniform shop will not be officially closed, but orders will not be processed until the start of term in September.
  2. Dec-Jan – The shop will be closed towards the end of the term.  It is anticipated the online shop will be closed for approx. 1-2 weeks

General Queries

Problems with online ordering system

If you are having any issues with the online ordering process that is not payment related then please email support@rmspta.co.uk.  Payment issues are usually due to PayPal having problems communicating with your bank and in some circumstances may need to wait till the next working day to try again.  If in doubt please contact your bank.  Please note IT support is provided by parent volunteers and the uniform online ordering system is continually monitored and enhanced.  We will endeavour to sort out any issues or discrepancies as soon as possible and reply to your query.  If you have an IT background and would like to learn how the system works with a view to joining the parent support team, please send an email to the support email address and we will get in touch.

Current known issues:

1) Postcode Validation –  This field is not essential to place an order at the shop checkout.  If an error occurs please leave the postcode field blank.
2) Duplicate email notifications – Please ignore any duplicate emails you may receive.  This is a glitch in our online system that will hopefully be resolved by an update.  Please feel free to check that only one payment has gone through for your peace of mind.
